The 9-10th Century Forteviot Arch was exhibited by Lord Ruthven at a meeting of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland in 1874 and donated to the society’s museum the same year.

One of the best known depictions of the saint is this stained glass window by Douglas Strachan in St Margaret's Chapel in Edinburgh Castle.

#ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, St Modan's, Rosneath has a fine carved oak pulpit, dated 1624, and a superbly carved and brightly coloured communion table. Behind this a painted wooden reredos, designed in 1931 by Morris Meredith Williams shows the Last Supper. Note too the ceiling.

Beside the minister’s prayer desk is “The Beast”, a carved lion thought to have been a stone upon which the early medieval church’s altar rested. The pipe organ, from 1873, is by Hill of London. In 2022, the instrument was surveyed by the group Sowne of Organe 👇
