👀 "more black voters (41 percent) now identify the Supreme Court as the top threat to their community than the Trump presidency (39 percent). In June 2024, just 26 percent said the Court was the top threat." The word is getting out re John Roberts MAGA #SCOTUS.
"Both proposed plants would feed data centers that have yet to be built, and the funding pales in comparison to the cost of new plants." The forces that drove coal's decline are larger than the president can control, but that doesn't stop him from trying: www.eenews.net/articles/new...
The callous brutality of it all is stunning
My read on this is that, if there's anything at all to read into this (and I'm not sure there is), it's that the responses to this survey are *entirely* performative. "Conservative" profs saying they feel way more self-censored under Trump is because they feel they need to play the victim...
“Congress's top bathroom sheriff Nancy Mace is on the ballot, and while not all of the votes have been counted yet, she is in a respectful fifth place,” Sarah McBride just said. “I don't like punching down and I believe in the politics of grace. So all I will say is happy Pride, Nancy.”

The Supreme Court’s gutting of the Voting Rights Act unleashed a wave of redistricting. Did it unleash a wave of voter anger too?

Missing the point on Platner
Every summer I repost this article on how to spot drowning. Please read it and pass on. In the last few years I’ve had SIX messages from people who saved a kid’s life after clicking on the link from my feed. slate.com/technology/2...
They came here fleeing persecution; rather than give them refuge, Marco Rubio’s state department will send them to die in countries they’ve never been to. www.nytimes.com/2026/06/11/w...
As expressed on the pod with @mbkplus.bsky.social, I have missed feelings about FIRE. They do some genuinely important work. But their surveys are unscientific and agenda-driven. This one of law faculty had a 6% response rate, with no apparent testing for non-response bias.
