Techdirt guy. Writes about social media, copyright, free speech, content moderation, civil liberties and stuff like that. Once wrote a paper that may have helped inspire this service & now I'm on its board: https://bit.ly/protocolnotplatform

Oh no. Some YouTuber who does 6 hour long streams is going to accuse Taylor of plagiarizing me again...
Another great writeup of what Atmosphere Conference was like
Crazy builder energy in the atmosphere ecosystem
to weigh in on the atmosphere vs attie discourse, i don’t see attie having a dramatic impact on most projects in terms of investment viability
most projects here were never fundable to begin with, likely never will be, or became unfundable pre-attie… especially in this economy
I haven't felt so many feelings about technology in a long time. I'm going to annoy y'all so much with my writing in the coming weeks.
This is the photo of Karoline Leavitt by the AFP wire service that the White House complained about and AFP pulled. AFP says its action was unrelated to the complaint. (Yeah, sure.)
For folks interested in the news industry, the Status newsletter is a must.
Just a few days ago MAGA folks were crowing about how a legal settlement they did with their friends would stop government suppression of speech. And the Washington Post editorial board talked up how it was a victory for free speech.
I feel bad because I do not think I got to say bye to so many people. But it would have just been a "see you later", not a goodbye. Excited for the next atmosphere conf when we can all hang out again
Heading home from an incredible AtmosphereConf. Such an inspiring and eclectic collection of hackers, community builders, social scientists and more. Thanks to team @npmx.dev for letting me tag along with the group, and thanks @bmann.ca and everyone else involved for the great event.
Welp, #atmosphereconf ruled. So many great people and inspiring projects, I'm so stoked for what's in store for this community. We're building the future!
Y'all are aces ✌️❤️
