My read on this is that, if there's anything at all to read into this (and I'm not sure there is), it's that the responses to this survey are *entirely* performative. "Conservative" profs saying they feel way more self-censored under Trump is because they feel they need to play the victim...

As expressed on the pod with @mbkplus.bsky.social, I have missed feelings about FIRE. They do some genuinely important work. But their surveys are unscientific and agenda-driven. This one of law faculty had a 6% response rate, with no apparent testing for non-response bias.
