There's been some erosion on the Crigyll estuary but this brave little clump of Bird's-foot Trefoil has managed to cling on looking like a hanging basket on the sand bank

We have two upcoming field trips over the next week.
One at a fantastic 'private' location that botanists usually can't access & the other at an #Anglesey fen to look for Orchids.
Locals and visitors welcome. Get in touch for more details if you'd like to join us.
Perfect week for #Wildflowerhour
#OrchidChallenge with the Northern Marsh-orchids now full flourish in my #Anglesey meadow.
Last year I counted 350, think there's going to be far more this year.
A sure winner if there was a 'Whispy White' category

Taken on Cymyran beach #Anglesey today
#orchidchallenge for #wildflowerhour A late Early Purple Orchid, a freshly emerging Common Spotted Orchid and two Heath Spotted Orchids from Anglesey.
After 40 years of botany I finally became a rock-rose completist with these Spotted Rock-rose on Anglesey. A bonus Sphaerophoria scripta hoverfly joined in.I didn't recognise this as Spotted Rock-rose until I looked closely. The spots can be almost invisible to the untrained eye. #wildflowerhour
