FSSNA has an originality clause that asks submitters not to use LLMs to generate their proposal. I love this so much. Some may argue "well, people will just lie and say they didn't use it." Maybe. But what are we normalizing when we allow scholars to submit AI-generated work?
More to come but I will say this: the liberal institutional infrastructure of mobility is gone. People are mad. Women are people. No one is speaking to that anger. Midterms soon come. But that’s just the start. Here lies the girlboss. First to die but not the last. Good riddance.
They bought all of our choices, political, lifestyle and economic. But they did not wager the cost of our *refusal*. It is fascinating. Grim but fascinating.
The claim that AI will be used to boost productivity and improve everyone's lives would have just a little bit more credibility if the big tech companies weren't already using AI exactly as every knows they will, which is to fire people and extract more work from those remaining.
Do you know I actually think that these people are so inoculated from any public sentiment that they are legitimately shook by a handful of boos at commencements this week?
