You can have viewpoint diversity. Or you can have peer review. But you cannot have both. And without peer review, you cannot have credible knowledge at all. shorturl.at/2Ji1X
"A pastor at the scene where multiple houses were on fire said people were being put out of houses "because they're black". In another scene, 100 masked men made their way down a street & kicked in doors & broke windows. They said they were "getting the foreigners out"" www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cr...
This is what a pogrom looks like: men in masks coming to drive you from your home. This is a collective failure of our political and media class because we did not have the courage to say no, and because too many were allowed to embrace this without shame

On one street, hundreds of masked men carrying bottles and bricks set bins on fire and shouted "foreigners out", our reporter says.

Homes set on fire in Belfast night of violence as MP says people targeted based on skin colour - follow live
Asheesh Kapur Siddique
Peter Beaumont
This was a race riot. Families were driven from their homes. People were targeted because of who they are and where they come from. Words matter. Those who fuel hatred and division bear responsibility too. We have more in common than that which divides us.
#BBCBreakfast: "... families had to be led to safety through the flames.. it wasn't just homes, cars were also torched by young masked men in these predominantly unionist streets, but the target here was immigrants.." This is what the likes of Reform are inciting.

🚨 race war was always and remains a nat sec issue. Drum I’ll never stop beating and my hands are getting calluses after 6 years
Rioters "momentarily enjoying the arbitrary power of both the traffic warden and the border official" (as Richard Seymour wrote of similar checkpoints in Middlesborough during the 2024 riots) illustrates alignment of "street" & "state" racism; this is explicit extraparliamentary border enforcement.
It is astonishing how quickly the police can turn up and arrest a student with a cardboard sign outside an embassy but are somehow entirely helpless in the face of a publicly organised campaign of targeted arson and violence.

this is the biggest problem with "viewpoint diversity" con artists: their ideas aren't in fact new. they're warmed over old stuff that's been conclusively disproven.

Orchestrated racist far-right terrorism in Northern Ireland again in response to an attack in Belfast, gleefully reported by RTC
I almost can't believe this, but *right now*, BBC Radio 4 is broadcasting a programme about the scourge of illegal immigration, through a lens of faux concern.
Ben Goldsborough MP
The only question we need to hear at PMQs today is whether our representatives condemn the racist violence Every party leader needs to answer
