I'm sure it would also be very interesting to learn how much all of the people behind Created by Humans have personally invested in AI companies right now.
Honestly, if Created by Humans wanted to actually support human creativity, they could just do what Mellon, Whiting, NEH, NEA, and other foundations do/used to do and just give money directly to artists, writers, humanists, musicians etc. to create things.
Wouldn't it also be convenient if the same institutions sponsoring the report discrediting those fields questioning the relentless expansion of AI had massive amounts of money to gain from precisely this expansionI? www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
I'm sure it's completely coincidental that Vanderbilt & Wash U spearheaded a report casting doubt on scholarship in "the humanities and humanistic social sciences," disciplines at the forefront of critiquing tech-fascism, at the very same moment they're about to cash in on tech-fascist investments.
How do you control unruly academics?
Through their trustees, of course. This right-wing group has a national network to push their agendas on universities across the USA.

If there were disciplines (like the humanities & social sciences) challenging AI's inevitability/social worth, wouldn't it be convenient if at the same time as companies pushed for AI's expansion, seemingly credible people published a report 'proving' that said disciplines were biased & invalid?
Like, as Josh Kline has pointed out, artists can't afford to live and work in cities because of real estate prices - which have become unaffordable because of tech capital speculation. These people could just give money to artists directly or finance affordable housing for artists in urban centers

UNC, UVa, Stanford, WashU, and Vanderbilt took the billions in federal funding they got over the years and handed it to Elon Musk so he could build a CSAM generator, wreck the NSF, and shutter USAID.
Some schools have a tenth or more of their endowments in Elon Musk’s rocket company.
