- family members who don’t see me daily actually believing me on what makes something inaccessible before they force me to do the inaccessible thing and then be surprised and distressed when I collapse

Innovations in agriculture, food preservation, medicine, and information technology are not the reason you are miserable and dissatisfied, nor is it caused by having to see immigrants or women having bank accounts. The past you venerate is a fairy tale, and chasing it is hurting real people.

Much of modern crankery is fueled by a fetishization of a "natural" that is every bit an artificially constructed cultural product as the so-called modernity they abhor and scapegoat for today's ills. They are in denial that their hallucinations represent no known reality, living in phantasms.
This fuels fascist, ethnonationalist and nativist sentiment almost as much as it drives antifeminism and the global trans panic. A childish, juvenile, infantile tantrum channeled into political animus because undesirables are more free than we used to be, and civilizational suicide is preferable.
