There have been SO damn many of these βpilotsβ all over the world and the positive effects are so clear in all of them, and yet every govt is too afraid of their billionaire owners and the right wing press (owned by said billionaires) to institute them.
when UBIs are in place - other groups of people work as much, but also have the security to risk opening businesses and starting creative endeavours.
UBIs are *incredibly* worth it in both economic and human QoL terms.
UBIs work. They are effective. Their positive outcomes are deep and long-lasting. They allow parents to put raising their children first, students to prioritise their education, and disabled people to live with basic dignity without fear. These are the only groups of people who actually work less
