Although some practitioner voices are represented (primarily through the involvement of subject leads from multi-academy trusts), there is relatively little input from subject associations or researchers with expertise in areas such as emergent writing, spelling development, and the role of talk.

Re-reading DfE's seemingly ever-more-controversial Writing Framework. Includes this unfootnoted statement: "Because children learn to read more quickly than they learn to spell, it is important that their reading must not be held back by whether they can spell accurately" What?
