Rise up for Riley 💙 Last night was a powerful statement of solidarity, with hundreds of Chicagoans riding from Palmisano Park in Bridgeport to a die-in on Halsted near where Riley O’Neil was killed. We cannot accept regular, preventable deaths on our streets. No more of this, please 🙏
“Your trip is not any more important or urgent as anyone else’s on the roadway,” Active Transportation Alliance’s Jim Merrell says. “We all have to respect each other and err on the side of caution and do our best to keep each other safe.”
"If the U.S. had simply been able to emulate the progress of these 34 peer nations in the developed world, 63,441 lives otherwise lost to traffic violence could have been saved over the last decade alone."

The bike ride and “die-in” in memory of fallen Complete Streets Planner Riley O’Neil was a life-affirming event. "No more people should die in the streets because their lives are not valued as much as driver convenience," said one organizer. @bikegridnow.org @chicritmass.bsky.social
