I don’t think this means lymphatics aren’t important. On the contrary, it likely reflects that a lot of CNS-derived protein is sequestered in the macrophage rich meningeal tissues that wastes have to pass through on their way to lymphatics.
And I didn’t even touch on the kinetics of efflux in the skull and this driving B cell negative selection.
