Remember when PSAs were? Like, can you even imagine seeing this on any mainstream media now? I remember seeing this when it aired. Sigh.
I also think placing police under democratic civilian control in America is an important cause (inthesetimes.com/article/abol...) so this is an issue that irks me. It's one of many where I think the basic issue is one of creating an informed public... but I don't know how to do that.
As a historian/anthropologist/STS scholar, I also endorse.

When an LLM is nice to you, it's worth noticing that the LLM is just channeling a vast sea of humanity that has been nice in that way online.
Whatever you think about the way this kindness has been distilled in the model, I think it's valid, and more importantly sweet, to receive it that way.
Isn't it illegal to have a popup that says "Megacorp 7 cares about your privacy" if they so manifestly don't that they need a cookie warning popup? The FTC in the U.S. has rules about deceptive advertising, and the EU does too. These are false and misleading claims, pure and simple.
