Isn't it illegal to have a popup that says "Megacorp 7 cares about your privacy" if they so manifestly don't that they need a cookie warning popup? The FTC in the U.S. has rules about deceptive advertising, and the EU does too. These are false and misleading claims, pure and simple.
Over 50 years later, this anti-Vietnam War PSA still rings true.
When an LLM is nice to you, it's worth noticing that the LLM is just channeling a vast sea of humanity that has been nice in that way online.

A lesson I've learned about "saving the world" or "making the world a better place" is to figure out what I can do, with the skills I have, and do that, instead of thinking I need to do what other people are doing because I think it is somehow more legitimate or important, and then doing nothing.
As a historian/anthropologist/STS scholar, I also endorse.
