Hey guys, look! After playing Quake Brutalism Jam 3, I decided to open up TrenchBroom and see what Quake level editing is like these days. This is way more intuitive than the old days with Hammer and Qed. I made a little brutalist buttress element! (Thanks to @makkon.bsky.social for the textures!)
Most notable changes of 2026.1: justify / align / fit textures with the click of a button, the new stair builder, Heretic II support.
TrenchBroom 2026.1 is out: github.com/TrenchBroom/...
I've been knee deep into TrenchBroom, will probably post an annoying amount about how fun and simple the tool is once you get it up and running to be used in unity. its just great being able to block out a map in like 30 mins. I will get back to modeling characters soon! #indiedev #gamedev
Finally got rid of the GLEW library, so TB now works on Wayland without any tweaks!
