Recent review about long-range axons rdcu.be/eXeDG
1) Removing external saline keeps neuronal physiology consistent over days or even weeks. 2) Our simplified holder allows flies to exhibit natural behaviors under the microscope. 3) The glue effectively stabilizes brain motion, so no need to remove muscle 16, even during feeding!
Honored to be part of this legendary course.
Embryonic dopaminergic neuron activity sustains lifelong locomotion in Drosophila: Cell Reports www.cell.com/cell-reports...
Drosophila folks! We just shared a new protocol for surgical preparation that enables long-term imaging in adult flies. Itโ€™s low-cost, simple, and highly repeatable. For demonstration, we show a 10-day voltage imaging and a 1-week population calcium imaging results. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
