11 year old Emily found this fossil fish at Charmouth. Emily took it to Steve Etches, who after careful examination identified it as a fish! It would've been swimming in the Jurassic seas alongside ammonites and ichthyosaurs

After years trying (& failing) to photograph Springtails, I can't believe TWO of these minuscule invertebrates photobombed the pic I took of a Tormentil flower earlier this week. I only noticed them after downloading the image to my laptop.

Here are three different types of beetle I saw this week!
1. Thick-legged Flower Beetles (Oedemera nobilis)
2. The Wasp Beetle (Clytus arietis)
3. The Fairy-ring Longhorn Beetle (Pseudovadonia livida) 🌼
