We detected 226 oil slicks over four years on the surface of the #BlackSea, 55 of which were found within protected areas, and over 170 were attributed to illegal bilge-dumping. In total, the slicks covered 1308 square kilometers.

Our tool's Conservation Builder feature allows conservation planners to map potential marine protected areas to examine how they intersect with marine wildlife corridors and critical habitats for endangered species.
