🪸We’ve refreshed the coral layer in our 30x30 Progress Tracker to reflect data from a new study by the Wildlife Conservation Society and Macquarie University!
The study provides a comprehensive picture of coral reef resilience globally.
💬 “Coral reefs are often framed as ecosystems beyond saving, but this research shows that there is a global set of reefs that have the potential to survive and recover from the climate crisis,” said Dr. Emily Darling, Director of Coral Conservation at WCS and co-author of the study.
🪸 This week, the Wildlife Conservation Society released a new study at #OurOceanKenya that identifies coral reefs with the strongest chance at surviving the climate crisis — a bright spot of good climate news.
💻 The data is now available in our 30x30 Progress Tracker.
By displaying it through high-resolution mapping, governments and stakeholders can clearly see where these reefs are located to guide local and national conservation actions and better understand how the reefs contribute to #30x30 goals.
