Yeah it is actually pretty damn interesting, to say the least, what some people on here were willing to say to Arab Americans in 2024 who now pretend like it's beyond the pale to do anything like that to people skeptical of Platner
This result is a BIG deal.
As many observed in the lead up, the Bains-Villegas match up was a contest for the soul of the Democratic Party, and the young progressive side won decidedly. I’m honored to have knocked doors for Randy and know he can prevail in November. LFG!
University of Iowa is going to be the poster child for "intellectual freedom" meaning "force fed right wing propaganda" and it is exhausting. We're number 2 for cancer in the country, and this is what the Iowa GOP legislates instead.
The Post corrected this quickly, but it makes you wonder what their inputs were.

Thinking alongside Roland here, I continue to think an application of genre theory--with its emphasis on recycling tropes--to AI would be immensely useful. Someone with a better grasp of its mechanics want to coauthor "A Genre Approach to GenAI" with me?
We should take seriously AI-boosters' claim that it increases access to the means of production, especially of genre and IP images. Similar to how digital video granted everyone the means to make moving images, AI expands who can make genre images regardless of access to training, funds, or talent.
I wonder when we started looking for domestication between other species? Does anyone know? Like animal language and culture, I imagine it must've been pretty recently. Wouldn't it be cool if animals were domesticating each other all over the place and we only noticed now?
This is especially great in the context of contemporary filmmaking, which are filled with uninspired scenes of people talking to each other. Dialogue can weigh down a film; but it can also be shot with intentionality and purpose, and Spielberg rarely misses a chance to make a choice.
