What confuses me is why there is so much discussion about how to fund LLM-augmented research but so little discussion about how to fund people to go to archives for years to read and interpret documents.

One of my pet peeves is when authors describe things as "horrifying," or "terrifying," "unsettling," "disgusting," etc. Much better to describe the thing in such a way that the reader is horrified, terrified, unsettled, disgusted, etc.! 1/
