Parkinson’s disease involves two major abnormalities in subthalamic nucleus activity:
1️⃣ Excessive beta (13–30 Hz) rhythms
2️⃣ Increased neuronal firing
Beta can be measured 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 surgery using deep brain stimulation electrodes.
