Nothing infuriates fascists more than being held accountable for their own failures. YOU did this, Pete Hegseth. You and Donald Trump. For nothing. An absolute catastrophe. If you had a shred of integrity you'd resign and disappear from public life forever.

We're a country where medical experts said "Take the vaccine to significantly reduce your risk of dying during the viral pandemic", and many American voters reacted to this information with profound irritation. That'll give you an accurate preview of what canvassing in the United States is like.
Just going to make a deeply unsettling observation: Donald Trump's federal government attacked both Iran and the State of Minnesota, and his administration and elected Republicans are currently showing more deference to the former.
Donald Trump told Axios that there are "no limits" to his power after the Iran War, even though his inability to keep the Strait of Hormuz open literally demonstrates that there are limits to his power.
"there's no room in this world to fuck up and fail" Donald Trump fucks up and fails every single day that he remains the President of the US, and he has infinite room to keep doing this. Meanwhile, other human beings fuck up once, and this society will assemble to ruin them. This is caste.
You know who I'm really tired of hearing from? People who didn't vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016 thinking that they're the experts on where America needs to go from here. You aren't. You helped give us Donald Trump. This will be your legacy forever.
This is right. Donald Trump's GOP is trying to bring back a king and is antagonistic towards Reconstruction amendments. Any elected Democrat who thinks that we can simply "affordability" our way out of a GOP relitigating the chief outcomes of both the Revolutionary War AND the Civil War is wrong.

I understand that I'm very likely to say this over and over again, but the media literally acted like Joe Biden presiding over the withdrawal from Afghanistan (planned during Donald Trump's first term) was the worst thing that ever happened to them. Donald Trump just letting Iran win? That's fine.
Netanyahu's government knew before the Iran War that Donald Trump was threatening multiple NATO allies with imperial conquest, and they chose to trust his administration anyway. This is how trusting Donald Trump's administration ends.

KAITLAN COLLINS: Are you okay with Iran having missiles? SEN. ROGER MARSHALL: I prefer that they not, but they have to defend themselves COLLINS: You think Iran needs to be able to defend itself? MARSHALL: I do, otherwise we turn this into a forever war

When Trump went to war with Iran, I watched every speech anyone in the administration gave and made a chart of every reason given for going to war "Eliminate ballistic capability" was the #1 reason given: more even than preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon

everyone should go canvassing at least once in their life because it will completely transform your ideas about politics. even better to go canvassing a few times in different sorts of areas (urban/suburban/rural)
As Eddie Glaude explained about America’s “divided soul” and “double consciousness,” we cannot be both “a beacon of freedom and a white republic.” That means overcoming the notion that “freedom is the possession of white Americans to give and take away.” www.americaamerica.news/p/freedom-ca...
“because i made poor decisions” is a really important part of this. there’s no room in this world to fuck up and fail, and that’s, in my opinion, a real problem.

Iran is now busy clarifying its "fee structure" for passage through Hormuz. The key point of reference is this: before Trump's MoU, none of these "fees" existed. www.ft.com/content/e106...
No better illustration not only of how fast things can change for you in Trump World but how your loyalty and support can be wheeled around and turned against you. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/06...

After Months of War, Trump Says Iran Has Right to Nuclear Program
I think Obama's speech also implicitly urges Democrats to go bigger against Trump and MAGA. Small-bore politics and slogans about "affordability" aren't going to cut it. Obama was modeling a big argument for Dems: newrepublic.com/article/2121...

i am going to work until i die, because the work i do is not valued, because i made poor decisions, and because that is how things work. i am glad that smart people got to cash out of that, but i don’t have to pretend they’re better than me for it.
