There’s a lot that I am proud of in my life, but being part of the team that got our first union contract is definitely up there. 💕
My first 2.5 years at OPB, I was an on-call temp employee making $19 an hour w/out benefits.
No one else will ever be in that situation again thanks to this contract ✊
- Premium payments including fill-in pay, hazard pay, language differential & standby pay
- Protections around AI, safety, grievance processes and layoffs and severance
Here are some highlights of the tentative agreement:
- No minimum salaries in contract lower than $65k, minimum salary increases for many positions
- KMHD hosts in particular get a nearly 30% increase retroactive to July ’25
- Guaranteed yearly increases of at least 3% for all 3 yrs of the contract

After 20+ months and 35 bargaining sessions, the content creators at OPB and KMHD, represented by SAG-AFTRA, have reached a tentative agreement.
