I feel like I am echoing the editorial, but the Points of View and Points of Significance series were very influential to my scientific journey. I am thrilled to see Points of View come back, being helmed by @helenajambor.bsky.social who has already done great work amongst the microscopy community
translated: we used faked results to try and convince you to buy our over-priced antibodies, and then offer a set of lies to justify it
While this is newly out of date by one article, here is a record of the past articles blogs.nature.com/methagora/20...

The Thermo Fisher situation keeps getting worse. We've now collected 450+ problematic images presented as verification data in TF's antibody catalog. This includes: 🖌️ Dozens more images with duplications or painting 🖨️ Hundreds of blots that all share the same background (behold slideshow below)

Update on GeneFrame alternative for bacterial imaging. After discussion with us and others, SunJin lab have how launched a substitute for timelapse imaging in geneframes www.sunjinlab.com/product/ispa... Dimensions are very similar, price is reasonable ($105 for 250) #microsky
The #ThermoFisher #antibody scandal is an ugly reminder, I think, of how few people (including those at TF, it seems) are trained to properly validate antibodies before use. Some advice on antibody validation in the posting 👇 totalinternalreflectionblog.com/2022/09/18/h...

Fellow bacterial cell biologists, message me if you use @thermofishersci.bsky.social Gene Frames for microscopy! Thermo are planning to discontinue these in September but have indicated they will look into this further. If I make list of labs using them Thermo might not kill the product Please RT🔬🦠

We are very excited to bring back our popular Points of View column, written by @helenajambor.bsky.social! Check out her first column in our July issue about the usage of color scales in scientific figures. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
