and a collection of the sibling series (and a few more), Points of Significance - www.nature.com/collections/...
While this is newly out of date by one article, here is a record of the past articles blogs.nature.com/methagora/20...
I feel like I am echoing the editorial, but the Points of View and Points of Significance series were very influential to my scientific journey. I am thrilled to see Points of View come back, being helmed by @helenajambor.bsky.social who has already done great work amongst the microscopy community
Thanks for writing this explainer (with data!). Since this is a topic that I feel like I'm constantly teaching people, I think your post will save me a lot of time. :)
The #ThermoFisher #antibody scandal is an ugly reminder, I think, of how few people (including those at TF, it seems) are trained to properly validate antibodies before use. Some advice on antibody validation in the posting 👇 totalinternalreflectionblog.com/2022/09/18/h...
Oh and of course the editorial that was not supposed to be shared: diabetesjournals.org/care/article...
The Thermo Fisher situation keeps getting worse. We've now collected 450+ problematic images presented as verification data in TF's antibody catalog. This includes: 🖌️ Dozens more images with duplications or painting 🖨️ Hundreds of blots that all share the same background (behold slideshow below)
