Disabled toilets: now for disabled people, trans people, and cis women who smoke a lot
While we're talking about Mary-Anne Stephenson, she said to my face in 2013 that her friend calling us tr*nnies "is not transphobic". It's long been clear that she will endlessly lie and deny for the sake of hate.
So "we can always tell" and no consideration of the experience of someone challenged over this when they are "following the rules" and using services according to AGAB.
And obviously the rules haven't previously required trans people to use services that don't match their appearance, that's new
No one knows what the law is right now. Why has the supreme court put the entire country in legal challenge roulette
And they can just refuse to believe that trans people who pass consistently exist, and you can't make them stop making decisions based on their imaginary version of reality
Incredibly frustrating how these conversations occur between cis people who are making decisions based a stereotype of a trans woman that pops into their head whenever they hear "trans" and basically don't remember that trans men exist unless you specifically remind them.
It just occurred to me that I blogged the letter I wrote to my MP about the transphobic guidance laid before Parliament last week, but I forgot to share it anywhere 🤦🏼
This might be useful to other people who have a minister as their MP. Ministers can't sign EDMs

Earlier this month, Bridget Phillipson, in her role as Minister “for Women and Equalities” laid a new code of practice before Parliament. As it’s still transphobic bullshit, we wrote to our MP again.
