This 30-minute interview with Lucy Suchman is very thought-provoking
Mark Carney’s AI strategy suggests Canadians’ concerns about AI will evaporate if they become more “literate” about the technology.
In trying to boost industry, Carney ignores many of the biggest concerns about generative AI and data centres. If anyone needs to become more AI literate, it’s him.
This is a great read

Some of the biggest minds behind AI may have you thinking a Terminator-like robot is coming for us. But literature professor Teresa Heffernan says tech giants have taken their readings of science…
“Musk’s core claim, that AI models will soon write machine code directly and skip the high-level languages developers use, is characteristically provocative of the Tesla CEO.”
Provocative.
I guess that’s a fancy word for stupid?
“Al agents are evolving…”
IT’S ALIVE!!!
I’d be interested to see the actual survey and the specific wording used. “AI” is not a well defined term. Since machine learning models are quite different from LLMs, I wonder if there was any confusion in the responses.

I've been working on this post for a while now. It's about why I think the productivity boost LLMs offer for developers is regularly and severely overestimated.
