Monday 4:37 pm: Radar: Rain continues over Laredo. Thunderstorm over Zapata.
June 15th, 1991: The second-largest volcanic eruption of the 20th Century began as Mt. Pinatubo injected over fifteen million tons of sulfur dioxide 100,000 feet into the atmosphere. 343 people were killed in the Philippines as a result of the eruptions. 1/2
Rains that fell last night in Maverick County will flow down the Rio Grande raising waters above bankfull with minor flooding below level where residences are Wednesday. Flood Watch along river as result.
Monday 3:52 pm: Radar overview: 1.40” of rain at KGNS from the 2 am to 3 am thunderstorm. We have added .83” in the rains since ~2 pm with a decent rain still in progress. The tremendous amount of moisture in the atmosphere insures heavy rainfall from these tall rain clouds.

Monday 10:38 am: Radar overview. A shower is just west of Laredo. Flood Watch for potentially very heavy rain episodes today and tonight.

Monday 4:30 pm: Big Picture Weathermap: A huge amount of moisture is present in the atmosphere. A weak disturbance moving north along a boundary across far south Texas will produce widespread heavy rain tonight. Flood Watch through morning as result.
Monday 9:43 pm: The atmosphere remains very moist over a deep depth. Showers are revolving around an upper level low just west of the river. Showers have redeveloped over the Laredo area, episodes of heavy rain still possible. Flood Watch remains in effect.
Monday 9:24 am: A brief shower passed through parts of Laredo at ~12:30 am followed by a strong 52,000’ tall thunderstorm between 2 and 3 am. Most of town had >1” of rain, northeast part of town had >2”.

Monday 2:25 pm: ~12” of rain fell last night/this morning south of Eagle Pass. This is south of Amistad Dam…water is flowing down the Rio Grande. Minor flooding expected Tuesday/Wednesday on lowest ground near river bank, expected in low part of Customs Parking Lot.
