June 15th, 1991: The second-largest volcanic eruption of the 20th Century began as Mt. Pinatubo injected over fifteen million tons of sulfur dioxide 100,000 feet into the atmosphere. 343 people were killed in the Philippines as a result of the eruptions. 1/2

June 11th, 1915: An estimated F5 brushed close to Mullinville, Kansas. The massive vortex, which reached a width of ~1 mile, leveled a farmstead on the edge of the town and destroyed other homes. Due to high visibility and time of day, no one was injured or killed.

2/2 Material from the explosion would spread around the globe, leading to climate changes worldwide as the sun’s energy was blocked out and global temperatures cooled by as much as one degree Fahrenheit. 1992 was globally one of the coldest since the 1970s.
June 13th, 1968: An F5 tore through Tracy, Minnesota. The tornado carved a path across the city, damaging or destroying close to 200 homes, businesses, and other structures. Nine people were killed & 150 were injured.
June 11th, 2001: A high-risk event in the Upper Midwest saw a derecho move through several states. The SPC logged nearly 200 reports of severe wind gusts, mainly in Wisconsin. Several gusts up to or over 90 mph were recorded. 19 tornadoes were also confirmed.
June 13th, 1951: An F2 struck the northwest section of Richmond, Virginia. Hundreds of structures were damaged or destroyed at a toll of over $500,000 (1951 USD). Despite over 600 families being affected, only 12 people sustained injuries.

June 14th, 1981: An intense tornado ripped through parts of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The F3 tracked for 16.2 miles and was up to 600 yards wide. Roseville sustained heavy damage, with most of the twister's 83 injuries occurring at the Har-Mar hopping Center.

June 14th, 1990: One of Ohio's deadliest flash floods hit the valley community of Shadyside when three to five inches of rain fell in less than 2 hours. Two creeks in the area roared out of their banks and claimed 26 lives and 80 homes.
