It should dissuade Streeting. I’m not sure it will, but it should.
Starmer could have maybe survived Mandelson or Burnham individually. That they happened back-to-back, he's in serious trouble.

It's not foregone or imminent but you should watch for a strike against Starmer from within.

Larry will likely serve his seventh Government.
Burnham won almost double Simons' majority. The vote on the far right was split, and Lib Dem/Green tactical voting did occur. But this is far beyond both, and it should be a sign for Starmer to see the gun in the drawer. I doubt he will, though.
Occasionally people question our discussion of Larry. He is always there, always does what he’s meant to do, and he’s tough. His only company in that is the late Queen. Never underestimate the power of metaphor.

25 years ago Burnham was a very underwhelming young man in a hurry - he began Blairite, then shifted into a sort of sub-Miliband who tried & failed for leadership twice. He left Westminster in '16 to be Mayor of Greater Manchester, where he did a good job on the soft left (a very loose term now) & -
