The main benefits I see in remakes are the ports & new PR cycle helping them reach new audiences.
Like, Gothic was PC exclusive for 20+ years. It got a Switch port in 2023, but the Remake this year is clearly the most popular release. I don't think the original was "old", but maybe was intimidating
I mean, I'm sad to see them go, but the whole issue was that whatever was left of the company had repeatedly failed at making anything close to a new Gothic... and I say this as someone who likes ELEX 1.
