Playing with expectations, routing the player through loops to reuse space, requiring players to recall and navigate to previous areas, making locations visible from other parts of the game, even the entire concept of shortcuts. All so uncommon for so long that many just file them under "Dark Souls"
I also replayed Dishonored recently and I also turned off the objective markers - such an improvement!

This goes beyond things accused of being AI. I want to know who designed the level I thought was fun, who filled them with little details, who designed the characters and brought them to life. I want to know who made the UI and who found problems for them to fix. I want to think about the humans.
