Governor Shapiro just released data center development standards and honestly? It's a start. 👀

Working families in Pennsylvania have been patient long enough. 😤
We've waited for Harrisburg to get serious about utility costs. We've waited for real property tax relief. We've waited for a government that doesn't bend the knee to corporate donors the second they write a check.
>
That’s one reason I support a three-year moratorium on new data center development. Before we approve projects that could dramatically increase energy demand, we need answers about the impact on utility rates, infrastructure, and the people who will ultimately pay the price.
>
Another utility rate hike. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania continues pursuing massive data center developments that could place enormous new demands on our electric grid.
Working families shouldn’t be left holding the bill while corporations reap the benefits.
>
Hard work should pay the bills, not be consumed by ever-rising utility costs.
But standards without enforcement are just words on paper. We need real protections that put communities first, not frameworks that give corporations wiggle room.
We'll keep pushing until NEPA and every Pennsylvania community gets the protection it deserves.
The wait is over. Let's go. 💙
