(Chuckles) I'm in danger 🙃.

Reworked the quest system over the weekend... quests now appear as a to-do list on a notepad. Just need to find a handwritten-style font that’s both elegant and easy to read 😬

Setting up a rain particle system (fun!) and rain collision colliders (less fun!)... it always ends up being more work than expected, but I'm quite happy with it so far ☔️🌧️

Not much to show visually at the moment but I’ve been experimenting with the script graph and state machine to handle the game’s progression logic. Not entirely sure if that's the best approach 🤔 but it works!

Spent a lot of time refining the full item loop:
👉pick up, select, inspect, and use items on other objects.
Even in slower-paced adventure or horror games I prefer snappy inventory handling over too much friction 😌.

From a top-down orthographic perspective, the central hub of my adventure game looks like a 90ies city sim

An inspiration for my game’s story and themes are old children’s books like this 1960s Pinocchio, illustrated by Martha Pfannenschmid.
Beautiful but strangely haunting drawings that always creeped me out as a kid. 😱

Needed a break from coding, so I started messing around with some early character models. Not sure yet if this will be the final level of detail but it’s a nice change of pace 😌

While I’m working on a lot of things that either aren’t very visual or ready to be shown yet, here are two older but still beautiful concept drawings from @lilcthulhu.bsky.social that were key in shaping the tone and atmosphere of the game 👻.

Revisiting the inventory and I think I finally found a good solution for where to stash the notebook (with collected notes, photos, etc.) 🤔
Maybe I’m overthinking it but giving the inventory backpack a tactile feel really matters to me.
