I happened upon this amazing ad for Postum in a very old magazine. Like many other ads at the time, it's lightly pro-Postum and scathingly anti-coffee.

Turns out Postum was a coffee substitute dreamed up by CW Post, founder of Post Cereal -- the Road to Wellville guy who was obsessed with diet and enemas.
He was super anti-caffeine, and so he made a drink you brew through grain cereal instead of coffee beans.
