We’re grateful to Bishop Paul McAleenan for welcoming our campaign to defend asylum. Together with CSAN and SVP we're calling for a system rooted in dignity and protection. If you would like to get involved with the Christian Campaign to Defend Asylum head to: www.jrsuk.net/defend-asylum
In Gran Canaria, Pope Leo met migrants and those who accompany them on one of the world’s deadliest routes — calling for compassion, responsibility and safe pathways. At JRS UK, we see this dignity every day in the people we walk alongside.
Since "one in, one out" started, JRS UK and @humansforrights.bsky.social have found that at least 141 age-disputed young people have been detained under the scheme. At least 64 of these either have subsequently been found to be children by local authorities or are pending further inquiries
As we dive into summer, may we share the newest edition of Together!☀️ This newsletter read about the importance of welcome, the 1951 Refugee Convention, and join us as part of A Christian Campaign to Defend Asylum! 📰Read Together at: www.jrsuk.net/summer2026
