With 1 day left until Election Day, a total of *59,482 ballots* have been cast (and received by the DCBOE), as of June 14!
This means that 87.6% of DC’s 481,148 registered voters still haven’t voted yet (and ~61-66% of total likely DC voters still haven’t voted yet)!

Nominating petition signature gathering for the Independent and SBOE candidates running in the Nov. 3 general election kicked off yesterday! 9 candidates picked up petitions to run for Mayor; 1 for Council Chairman; 3 for At-Large CM; & 1 each for Ward 1/Ward 5 SBOE Member:
A friendly reminder that political candidates don’t control what type of messaging Independent Expenditure (IE) groups decided to put out (via text, mail, online, or on cable TV)
We need an absolute OCF blackout close to elections, after this episode and what happened to Elissa back in 2022. The only way that happens is via legislation through the DC Council—we’ll need to wait for a new committee chair (overseeing OCF) in 2027-28 to get this done though…

On the reimbursements, the report seems to show that its author has no clue about the meaning or purpose of 1-1163.08(a).
But if it’s now illegal for a campaign to reimburse somebody more than $50, then this new rule should also apply to the reimbursements disclosed in McDuffie’s June 10 report.
The Kennedy Center board has filed an emergency motion to stay at the DC Circuit and it is bonkity-bonkers.
For the first time, they say they amended the bylaws to strip all funding from the center if it removes Trump's name.
No Trump KC, no money.
