A friend just went there and sent us photos: “no one home at tents but signs also posted on tents; 4 total on the south side of i90 as you approach 23rd”

If the sheer number of people attending the cross link celebration did not convince Sound Transit leadership not to cut any stations from ST3, then we need to seriously re-evaluate how Sound Transit is run. Today was a demonstration about how much we want more rail.
Build the damn trains.
@nondriver.bsky.social arranged for @mayorofseattle.bsky.social to take a walking tour of the very dangerous pedestrian routes to the new Judkins Park station and a reckless person happily obliged by driving their Tesla into the crosswalk.
Yesterday in West Seattle, three people living in tents at Rotary Viewpoint Park were robbed and assaulted, with two of them in critical condition today. The need to stand up real shelter solutions isn't theoretical.

The enthusiasm cannot be understated. People care deeply about transit. Many folks I talked to told me about their plans to ride for their commutes, a Mariner’s game, a concert, etc. The joy, the passion, the excitement for these every day things are actually what makes all the difference.

Happy to have joined this walk!
Rainier Ave S needs to be fully rebuilt — not just tweaked around the edges. The good news is that the Keep Seattle Moving levy designates Rainier Ave S for repaving, Vision Zero, bike, and bus projects. Seattle must coordinate those into a comprehensive rebuild.
Went to check in for an int'l flight on Hawaiian Airlines. Online check-in only allowed if I take a photo of my passport and send it to a third-party, Jumio, whose privacy policy is not remotely encouraging on data minimization, retention standards, etc (Alaskan uses too). Makes my blood boil.
Thank you @seattledot.bsky.social for the much improved crossings at 10th and Yesler (saw lots of people using the beacons today) and 12th and Alder!
brb going on Polymarket to bet on when the Jumio data breach occurs
“Everyone was cheering when we were going over the bridge,” said Lili Luna Cruz, who was visiting from Wenatchee. “And then someone shouted ‘When I say light, you say rail,’ and everyone was chanting ‘Light! Rail! Light! Rail!’”
