The U.S. attorney for the District of Minnesota began his press conference by asserting that “political violence is a national scourge in our times.” He was not, however, referring to the violence of agents who shot and killed Alex Pretti and Renee Good, but about anti-ICE protests.
Federal prosecutors announced charges against 15 protesters in Minnesota on Tuesday, accusing them of “conspiring to interfere with law enforcement” during the ICE surge in Minnesota earlier this year.
Additionally, winger Mehdi Torabi’s U.S. visa expired Monday night, leaving the team uncertain if he will be able to return to the U.S. for the team’s subsequent two games. Torabi was issued only one single-entry visa instead of the multiple-entry visas given to other players.
