I love when you are writing about a franchise you like (40k) and how it would be cool if they released miniature X and someone smugly writes "Have you considered buying non GW"😏 Weirdly enough while buying 40k minis, I tend to buy them from the folks that own the license and make the product.
Rounding out the oldhammer eldar were 5 metal guardians, 2 metal weapons platforms and crew. 5 Plastic monopose guardians. 1 jetbike, 2 vipers and a falcon all unpainted the later still mostly on sprue. Tomorrow I'll add my modern Aeldari to the count.
The cataloging continues with the last of my loose metals and drifting into loose resin. Old Attack bike, the metal parts for a razorback and a few olds n ends. Some fantasy metals including the kroxagor that traveled with me since the 90s. Some FW resin marines and Necromunda.
12 days till our little group activity. (I'll post occasional count down reminders as we go)

The great miniature stock take is commencing! Why would I need to do such a thing? I buy so much random stuff on discount, pick up odd old hammer bits, get gifted stuff, give away stuff after many years its gotten completely away from me. eg The first row from the loose minis draws.
We all have our comfort zones around 3rd party products, questionable IP infringement & recasts. I'm generally ok with products sans official analog, eg femSM heads. But there are other concerns like event legality, & 3rd party product doesn't mean people shouldn't ask for what they want added.
Shit like this *can* happen. I've seen hands on the wring side, extra or less fingers, and a slew of other 'can't believe they did that' mistakes. Probably made a few myself. But truth or not I'm stunningly uninterested in non artists pretending they *know* artists could never error like that.

I inherited a grab bag of extra GSC to add to my collection from a friends abandoned project. I always feel bad undoing the work others have done, but their theming didn't fit with mine so strip & rebuild. The primer was good, simple green did nothing. 2x alcohol scrubs & ultrasonic were needed.
Decided that over the holidays I'm going to do a stock take of my frankly embarrassingly large pile of potential and see if there is some stuff I can move on to homes more deserving at greatly reduced prices (or free in some cases). Watch this space if you are in Aus, esp if in Brisbane.

All the loose figures are done, and I got through all the terrain and 40k stuff. Tomorrow I'll do the fantasy stuff. But the oddity in the mix was a objective marker I have no memory of building and am bewildered by the ducks and why this happened.
