In 30 minutes join @annabower.bsky.social, @ericcolumbus.bsky.social, and @rparloff.bsky.social for a live discussion of a judge rejecting the lawsuit challenging White House UFC fight, the removal of President Trump's name from the Kennedy Center, and more.
The DC Circuit denied the stay in a sentence, with no noted dissents. (Judge Katsas was appointed by Trump and served as dep. WH counsel during the 1st Trump administration.)

I want to highlight for psychiatric clinicians some lines from Trump’s failed emergency motion to the DC Circuit seeking to keep his name on the Kennedy Center.
“The name ‘Kennedy’ is still on the Building, but in a much stronger form,” Trump writes. (That is, below his.)

Here the DOJ’s civil chief (the only signatory to the motion) lets Trump mislead the DC Cir about what Judge Cooper’s order does. In reality, Cooper allowed repairs to go forward & if, after a proper inquiry, the trustees find they need to, they can still close the center during the process.

Here Trump asserts that center’s “trustees” passed a poison-pill bylaw that requires return of donations if his name is ever removed. AFAIK this has never been alleged before in the litigation. If true, is another shocking indictment of his board of toadies.

I forgot to include Trump's appellate motion for emergency stay. h/t @geoff923.bsky.social
It's here:
storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
Here Trump, in carnival barker mode, promises the court that if allowed to keep his name on the building & do as he pleases with it, he will make it the “envy of the World, something that everyone, including the court, will be proud of.”
