Sorry, but I'm furious. And horrified. I am all for celebrating success and hard work, but this is just grotesque.

Fun Fact: Autumn's mom in this version of THE OCTOBER GIRL was based on my close, personal (online) friend, @maggiemaefish.bsky.social.
My friends Tilly and Susan have a YA graphic novel coming out in August!!! Woooooo!!!!
I don't consider myself that much of a radical, but I do think that our being about to have our first "trillionaire" while there are still people dying from not being able to afford food, housing, or healthcare is an outrage and proof of how damaged our society has become.
I've said this before, but I remember a time early in my career when comic book pros did not have to pay to get into a comic book convention. It's always bothered me that we had to start paying for pro badges and it is one of the reasons I don't do many conventions.
Throwback Thursday: A few pages from a very DIFFERENT version of THE OCTOBER GIRL that was geared for a more traditional mainstream comics audience, not a YA audience. Does it look cool? I think so. But if I'd gone with this approach I'd still be working on Book One.
"Trillionaire" in that totally made up, "on paper" kind of way that is more fantasy than anything Tolkien ever wrote. And the fact that our first said "Trillionaire" is a ketamine-addled, racist conspiracy theorist says a lot more about us as a society than we want to admit.
