B.C.'s economy remains resilient in the face of global instability. In May:
↑ 25,200 jobs vs. last month - all full-time
↑ 14,800 private sector jobs
↑ 7,200 youth jobs (2nd largest gain in 🇨🇦)
- Unemployment: 6.8% unchanged
Since 2017, private sector emp. is up by 149K

Across BC, renters are starting to see real relief:
• Asking rents are down 12.5% from 2023
• Vacancy rates are rising
• More options for renters, including ability to negotiate their rent
• 26,000+ purpose-built rentals registered in 2025

From 2007-2016 the average number of new purpose built rental units across BC was ~2,500 per year.
In 2025 it was 26,000! 🎉
