The recent rulings in the supreme court I think are not just a sign of a roll back of rights but a sign that the legal establishment in the UK is more and more comfortable with simply ignoring international human rights norms and having no expectation of being held responsible for failing them.
Fascism is emboldened by those in power who refuse to acknowledge (let alone address!) institutionalised racism. Racist violence of this nature is only possible because our digital, social, political, and media ecosystems cultivate it. We must disrupt this organised racism and keep each other safe.
“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”
Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life.
Common sense.
Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.
Shame on all those MPs who haven't yet, time to grow a backbone. 🏳️⚧️

This report "offers a set of bold policy proposals, including hefty wealth taxes on billionaires, sharp reductions in working hours, a change in diets and a shift of investment from materially intense sectors, such as industry and mining, to education and health."

Horrid.
Oxford Greens at Oxford Pride!! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ We had a great time at Oxford Pride, an event more important than ever this year as the Government and far right ramp up attacks on our community and attempt to legislate the most basic rights of trans people away.
The UK's Supreme Court is rapidly diminishing its own reputation by stripping minoritised groups of longstanding protections. There's no reason to believe that they will stop with trans people and disabled people, everyone's freedoms are threatened by these decisions. www.mind.org.uk/news-campaig...

“This judgement sets us back decades and removes safeguards that history shows us are vital for disabled people. By removing independent checks, advocacy, and automatic access to legal aid, the Court has closed the gateway to justice and support for many who need it most.”
This is just destructive.
Global report provides an alternative to climate breakdown, political extremism and economic tensions
This is an impressive statement not least for covering so much ground as it punctures the lies of the transphobes:
- Self-ID exists in other countries and doesn't make cis women unsafe
- The EHRC's guidance deputizes every service worker into toilet police
- The UK media is transphobic as hell.

The scenes in Belfast last night were disgraceful. Families were targeted because of their skin colour or country of origin, leaving people frightened, homeless and fearing for their safety.
The actions of one individual must never be used to stigmatise an entire community, nationality or faith.
The Supreme Court has today "strip[ped] fundamental human rights protections from potentially hundreds of thousands of severely disabled people" say a group of National Charities for disabled people. www.mind.org.uk/news-campaig...
