The moment Trump started dismantling green energy, everyone else should have tripled down on it at state levels. He’s set up the country to be even more totally at the whim of the oil market than before, and it’s bizarre his opponents don’t see this as worth exploring outside occasional attack ads.
This is unconscionable. Between the temperature, the ongoing food and energy shortages and the ongoing blockade, attacking water infrastructure is morally and practically tantamount to mass murder. It’s an explicit war crime in international law for a reason.
Public health is making a deal with the devil partnering with a man that has painted the entire field as corrupt. It legitimizes his claims, and on the shakiest of grounds. UPF is impossible to operationalize, zero construct validity. But it’s great PR for the people who want to dismantle the field.
Before this ridiculous movement, there have been plenty of rigorous researchers looking these: high fructose corn syrup and sweeteners, portion sizes and marketing, preservatives and pesticides, fast food, all of these things. There’s even an entire expertise dedicated to soft drinks. Look to them.
It just seems like the entire liberal political imagination is focused on how and when it can retake the White House to fix everything, and this seems not only foolish but at this point totally detached from reality.
Good thing we have the media to hold him accountable, am I right?
