It’s June 11th. Salah Sarsour has been detained by ICE since March 30th, not having been found guilty of a crime since he was a child, and is being treated horribly. He’s lost 30 pounds in detention. He is not receiving vital medical and religious accommodations. (1/2)
Retailers 100% understand the tradeoff when they replace workers with "self-checkout" systems. It's ridiculous for them to pretend otherwise.
This is a big reason why we should very skeptical of magical-sounding "automation" technology, especially AI. Even when it works, it's at workers' expense.
Flock cameras are rife for abuse, easy to hack — and ultimately do nothing to address the underlying causes of crime.
