1800 year old Roman sculpture, showing a baby holding a puppy and the mother dog gently touching the baby asking for her baby back.
Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh was born on this day in 1853 in Zandert, The Netherlands.
A year after he had moved to Paris, Van Gogh painted this view featuring the popular Restaurant de la Sirène at Asnières.

Stood at Cwrt Dafydd farm, south of Margam, where they were found reused to form a footbridge across a stream. They are known as 'cart-wheel' crosses, and so named from the radial form of the cross head, like the wheels of a cart. 10thC.

This may look like a boiled sweet but it’ll bust your tooth. It’s actually a beautiful Minoan cornelian seal. It depicts a man driving a two-horse chariot, grasping the reins in his left hand and flicking his whip with the other.
