I think we hate AI because it is contemptible for many reasons, social, personal and environmental, but I hate AI. I guess you don't so youve gotta come up with a reason why we're wrong that doesn't involve taking up the critiques
I think it has the most to do with what's coming across their feed. I blocked ICE and this account because I happened to be scrolling and saw people suggest it, no more complicated than that. I do not believe bluesky is meaningfully more pro ICE than AI, generally
The question of why it's so popular goes back to the late 90s I guess, but it was widely marketed and easy to read. Maybe it's as much a matter of chance as anything, idk
Id say it's the one they watched a movie of when they were young, their friends know about it and there's an amusement park to go to. It has the legitimacy of popularity so they fulfill childhood fantasies while being part of a "community" (consumption based fandom, lots of shit to buy)
